WEEK 1 Questions for Chapter 1; The Witching Hour


  1. Everyone else is asleep so why is Sophie awake?  
  2. Describe the weather and atmosphere you would expect to see and hear during                     "The Witching Hour".
  3. Where do you think Sophie lives?  What clues in the text make you think this?

    .1 Sophie couldn't sleep because of the moonlight
    .2 we think it was raining because of how the storyline was set out on pages 1 and 2
    .3 an orfanige because because the word domaitory is usally used if the scene is a orfange
